Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

Everyone faces challenges and struggles in this life, and I am passionate about equipping my clients with the tools that will help them create an emotionally healthy and hopeful life as they confront the challenges that come their way. As a therapist I want to always keep in mind the healing of the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. My work with clients often involves addressing an addiction, adult or childhood trauma, grief or loss and various relationship issues. That work can also include a focus on spirituality or transforming thoughts and belief systems that help create new behavior patterns.

I am experienced working with addiction, grief and childhood sexual abuse. I also work with couples experiencing relationship and intimacy issues, premarital counseling, infidelity, and trauma. I also work with clients dealing with a wide variety of other issues such as anxiety, depression, transitions and adjustments, parenting skills and identity development. I have a special interest in working with Moms helping them strengthen their identity within their multiple roles, finding balance in their life while prioritizing their children and families, and establishing boundaries that help them achieve an emotionally satisfying life. Since I am a Mom myself, I know how easy it is to “lose yourself” in trying to meet all of the many needs within the home and family.  I was also a military wife who spent a lot of time figuring out how to parent alone during my husband’s absence.  By God’s design, I believe in the incredible ability of women to manage multiple things while wearing many hats.  I want to help those struggling with their purpose to find a renewed strength.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Family Systems Theory, and Attachment Theory as well as other therapeutic modalities when working with clients. I am also trained in Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counseling as well as How We Love Attachment theory based premarital/marital counseling.

It is my goal to provide a nonjudgmental environment as the foundation for my clients to process past trauma, grief, and disappointments, and to offer tools that lead to a happier, more fulfilling life and future. At times, therapeutic intervention is helpful, and even necessary to get to a place of deep, lasting healing for past wounding that continues to affect life and relationships. I find great joy in helping clients find this hope and healing.
