M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Liberty University

“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe.”
Psalm 107:2 (NIV)

My journey into counseling has been shaped by both my professional experiences and my faith. With over 20 years in education as a Spanish teacher and program leader, I have taught students across all developmental stages—from elementary and junior high to high school—which has given me a deep appreciation for the unique challenges and growth that occur during adolescence and early adulthood. I have a particular passion for working with teens and young adults during these formative years, as well as a heart for supporting parents as they navigate the complexities of raising and guiding their children. As a counselor-in-training, I view this work as a calling and believe that God uses relationships as powerful instruments of restoration and hope.

God has faithfully walked with me through seasons of joy, challenge, and growth, and those experiences have deepened my compassion for others who are navigating their own struggles. I believe healing often begins when individuals are given space to share their stories and feel genuinely heard. Through storytelling, reflection, and connection, clients can begin to make meaning of their experiences and move toward healing. I understand the courage it takes to step into vulnerability, to confront painful experiences, and to pursue growth, and my desire is to come alongside clients with grace, encouragement, and biblical truth in a safe and supportive environment.

My background in psychology, education, and bilingual instruction allows me to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I am committed to providing culturally responsive care and to integrating faith in a respectful and client-centered way for those who desire it. I strive to help clients grow in self-awareness, resilience, and hope while honoring their unique stories and God-given strengths.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Spanish from Westmont College, hold a Spanish bilingual teaching credential from Saint Mary’s College, and am currently completing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. I am married and have been blessed with 26 years of marriage and three adult children, an experience that has deepened my passion for parenting, family relationships, and supporting parents through the many stages and transitions of family life.

Outside of counseling, I value deep friendships and believe community plays an important role in emotional and spiritual well-being. I enjoy staying active through workouts, going for walks, and spending time outdoors. I also love investing in meaningful relationships, serving in my church and community, and continuing to grow both personally and spiritually. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you pursue healing, clarity, and restoration.
