Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
Life can be amazing, difficult and everything in between. I believe every individual has their own story and would love to be there to listen and support no matter where you are in your story. I was drawn to the counseling field through my passion for relationships and understanding of human behavior and emotional processes. I have a desire to help others find personal insight, work towards healing, and improve their overall quality of life relationally, cognitively, and emotionally.
I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M and a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Midwestern State University. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from various walks of life and experiencing different struggles. I have particular experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and helping them build cognitive and social skills. I aim to create a safe environment, strong therapeutic relationship, and to provide beneficial and creative resources and techniques to help you reach your goals. Even though I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, I have a particular passion working with children, parents, and couples. I do not believe in a ‘one-size fits all’ approach and utilize techniques from various therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SBFT), play therapy, art therapy, and Gottman-Method Couples Therapy.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and my dog, reading, playing games, hiking, visiting museums, and completing all the escape rooms available. My husband and I have been on a personal journey of infertility and can understand the struggles it comes with and the toll it takes personally and as a couple. I have also been a witness to the difficulties of having a child with developmental and behavioral disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Conduct Disorders. I hope you will trust me with your story and allow me to be a part of the mundane moments, celebrations, and struggles.
